The Harvill Building

The Harvill building. I only have one class here, and I’m glad. It’s a dungeon, or the basement is at least. It freaks me out a little bit.
As far as I can tell, it is not possible to get cell service down here. Because of that, this is where a zombie uprising would start.
Oh, crap.

Computer Organization

Today was my first honors section meeting for C SC252: Computer Organization. I won’t be dropping this one, as it’s mostly just discussion of some extra CS-related topics that might be related to the class.
I was worried about the honors sections being too difficult, as I’ve heard from others (they were all non-CS students though) [...]

First Impressions Series: The First Day

Okay, so I dropped Linear Algebra and INDV101: Langauge and added C SC252: Computer Organization. This C SC class is required for graduation, so whether I like it or not, I’ll have to take it at some point, which means that it’s more or less okay if it sucks.
The bad news: honors students are expected [...]

First Impressions Series: MATH215

Professor Javier Diaz-Vargas, who teaches Introduction to Linear Algebra, speaks, as I somewhat suspected, with a heavy, almost impenetrable accent. He is a visiting professor from Mexico and will only be here for this semester.
Due to my inability to remember any Calculus or any of the symbols he used in the initial definitions, paired with [...]

Recently

Okay, a couple of updates. I’m up at about 5:00am due to a slight bout of insomnia. I went to bed around 12:30am, and woke up at about 2am. At 3am, after about an hour of being unable to sleep, I got dressed for the day, packed up my laptop, study materials, and RPG notebook [...]

Collating Data

So, you all know how I like collating data. Anyway, I decided to calculate how far I walk/bike to/from class every day.
Here we go:
Monday and Wednesday: approximately 1.35 miles
Tuesday: approximately 0.5 miles
Thursday: approximately 1.4 miles
Friday: approximately 2.5 miles

Grades

In my last post, I calculated a 91%ish for TRAD101 (Patterns in Prehistory).
So far in TRAD104 (Origins of Human Diversity), I have a 97%.
As for C SC227 & C SC296H, the first, I’m not sure how to calculate, but I certainly have an A, and the second is pass/fail, and I’m sure I’ll pass.

TRAD101 Exam 2

I got a 92%. I’m in class right now, and everybody is complaining about how hard the test was, which confuses me. Apparently they want fewer multiple choice questions, which is stupid. Somebody just suggested that if the multiple choice questions were in order by book chapters, that the test would be easier. That makes [...]

Next Semester

MATH 215: Introduction to Linear Algebra (3 credit hours)
Focus on vector spaces, linear transofrmations and matrices. There is some emphasis on the writing of proofs.
ENGL 104H: First-Year Composition (3 credit hours)
C SC 335: Object-Oriented Programming and Design (4 credit hours)
Fundamentals of object-oriented software development. Includes design principles, inheritance, polymorphism, Unified Modeling Language (UML), testing, event-driven [...]

Registration

I got up at 7am this morning to do registration for next semester.
Here it is:
